This was perhaps the
dumbest thing ever to happen in
professional wrestling, and that says a LOT. For weeks leading up to
Survivor Series '90, a giant
turkey egg appeared at every
arena where the
WWF had a show. The
announcers speculated often on what what was inside, which everyone
assumed was a
debuting
wrestler.
So Survivor Series arrives, and midway through the show the egg starts to
crack. What should pop out, but...a gaint
turkey, or more correctly a man dressed in a turkey
suit. He went to the ring and danced with
Gene Okerlund for several
horrible minutes to the complete
apathy of the
crowd. It has never been mentioned again, except very, very rarely as a bad
inside joke. For the record, the Gobbledeegooker was played by
Hector Guerrero.
