The city of Forlì (anciently "Forum Livii"),is the capital of
Italy's
commune of Forlì. The city is an
agricultural and
industrial center; manufactures include
machinery,
furniture,
textiles, and
food products.
Important buildings in the city are the 12th-century Church of San Mercuriale and a 14th-century citadel. There's not much else to see there, except that in the center of the city is the large Piazza Saffi, which once weekly hosts a large and comical gathering of old Italian men.
Nearby is the city of Predappio, where Benito Mussolini was born and is buried.
