Belgium has 3 communities. The
dutch speaking community, called Flemings (Vlamingen/Flamands), who mostly live in
the north/west part of the country. There are about 6,000,000
people in this community.
The people in the French speaking
community live mostly in the southern part of the country. They are called Walloons (Walen/Wallons) and there are about 4,000,000 of them.
The 60,000 German speakers are often
forgotten, but German is the 3rd official language.
