FIRE
For years I’ve been fascinated with fire
the idea of flame & leaps daring into darkness.
But now I’ve begun to watch, to understand
the concentration of setting, & lighting.
Watch. Flames grow around kindling
like a house that is also a flower
reaching to include the highest rafters
logs.
Once I thought there’d be shapes
was assured castles & dragons dwelled there.
But as I watch
I see no things, no divisible part
of energy, no glow separable
from this house, home of all my yearning
where none is ever tired
none lacks motion.
