The New Kid in the ESPN family of brand names, after Disney's purchase of New York's Classic Sports Network. Lots of nostalgia filler, and now a place to squeeze more revenue out of the vast ABC/ESPN archives and talent pool. Eminence Grise Dick Schaap has great interviews with his fellow eminences.

Some have said that showing reruns of old sporting events removes our rose coloured glasses; I say modern athletes are better, but the Old Days produced better players.

Programming includes new documentaries on athletes, coaches, and legends of the world of sports, old gameshows about sports, and of course, old sporting events. Unexpectedly, they also sometimes have 'instant' classics, like last years NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs Marathon on Ice, a game which lasted over 2 hours and fourty minutes (thats game time, not real time.) Between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers, which was shown on ESPN Classic just a few nights after the original broadcast in it's entirety.
