Δαμαιθος
A king of Caria, where PODALIRIUS, the doctor, landed after being shipwrecked on his way back from Troy. Podalirius was resceued by a goatherd, and taken to the king, Damaethus, whose daughter Syrna happened to be seriously ill. Podalirius cured her, and in gratitude Damaethus gave him Syrna's hand in marriage and granted him a peninsula of land on which Podalirius built two cities.
