Colm Meaney is an Irish born actor born in Dublin on May 30, 1953, he has made numerous appearances in movies and television. Some of his more notable roles have been as a terrorist in Under Seige, the Mayor in Mystery, Alaska, a murder victim in October 22, and leading roles in the so-called Barrytown Trilogy (The Commitments (where he sang an Elvis tune!), The Snapper and The Van).
Of course his most well known role was probably that of Chief Miles O'Brien on Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
