Winston Churchill's house in the
countryside in
Kent, a bit south of London, where he lived after 1924 (when he wasn't in
Downing Street). It's a large
property, now belonging to the
National Trust. It has extensive
grounds and
gardens. In the grounds is a
studio which still keeps a number of his
paintings.
The National Trust handbook says "A delightful family home, with stunning views over the Weald. ... The beautifully terraced gardens contain the lakes he dug, (and) the water garden where Sir Winston fed his fish".
I didn't know he dug lakes as a hobby!
