The most famous character of American ventriloquist Edgar Bergen. Always appeared with a monocle, even on the radio, where he and Bergen started on NBC-Red's Chase and Sanborn Hour. There are three extant wooden versions of him: One in the Smithsonian Institution, one at the Museum of Broadcast Communications in Chicago, and one with his sister, Candice Bergen. There are other copies around never used by Bergen, used for publicity shots: magician David Copperfield owns at least one, there's one at the Las Vegas Movie and Magic Hall of Fame, and one at the Vent Haven Museum.
