Archaeopathology is the study of ancient bodies to see what diseases and health-problems they suffered from. It can help us see how they died, what treatment they used and what illnesses or health afflictions were around back then. For instance, by studying ancient bones we are able to see what sort of lifestyle people had, what operations were carried out (although not on soft tissue), and how successful these operations were (by looking for evidence of healing).
