Dungeons & Dragons, 3rd Edition finally gives this weapon its due. No longer is this big fricking hammer assigned the same damage as a puny dagger: The new warhammer does a mighty 1d8 of damage (+ strength bonus) -- that's some good numbers for your half-orc barbarians! The "old" type of warhammer has been renamed to "Light Hammer" and still does the little 1d4 of damage.
