A
phenomenon (mostly) seen in
Italy, especially in the
south thereof. It is understandable to a point, after all a lot of the traveling
college kids are stereotypical "
ugly americans," but that doesn't justify the dual price system and general bitchyness to anyone who speaks
English. The mentioned dual price system is the most obvious outcome of the hatred: If you order in
English, your check will be significantly different from that of an Italian... one time we went out with some
Italian friends and less (two people versus four) than the night before.
