The method of drawing a
sidearm that is taught to
Israeli Defense Force troops. Since they are trained to carry their sidearms in
Condition 3 it is necessary for them to manually
rack the slide to get the gun into action. The draw the consists of pulling the
pistol from the holster, racking the slide, and pointing at the
target.
The idea behind it is that negligent discharges will be minimized as there is no round in the chamber although with proper training, Condition 1 can be just as safe and even easier to get into action.
This might seem cumbersome to some people but highly trained IDF troops can execute an Israeli draw faster than most of us can do a regular draw.
