Title of a song well known to members of Northfield Minnesota where Malt-O-Meal is made. The song is sung by St. Olaf College's male acapella group "The Limestones"

Just when thing were looking up and nothing could wrong,
a very bad thing started happening that's why I wrote this song.

It happened one morning about 9 am, just eating with another kid, and on this fateful day this is what I did.
I wish I could change that fateful day cause this is what I did.

I ate....
Cream of Wheat in a Malt-O-Meal town.
What once was looking up is now on the way down.
Yes I ate,
Cream of Wheat in a Malt-O-Meal town.
What once was looking up is now on the way down.

I was doing just fine with the books and the babes I had an awesome life
Then I got stood up and I flunked a test and then began my strife
So I thought I'd go down to an honor house and drink away my blues
but the very next morning I woke up smooching Ole Avenue.

Cause I ate....
Cream of Wheat in a Malt-O-Meal town.
What once was looking up is now on the way down.
Yes I ate,
Cream of Wheat in a Malt-O-Meal town.
What once was looking up is now on the way down.

(Seniors only)
Soon I'm gonna graduate my work is almost through
when I want to recall my college days this is what I'll do.

I'll Eat....
Cream of Wheat in a Malt-O-Meal town.
What once was looking up is now on the way down.
Yes I'll eat,
Cream of Wheat in a Malt-O-Meal town.
What once was looking up is now on the way down.
