Dreadlords are also a type of Darkfriend in the Wheel of Time books. Specifically, they were Aes Sedai or others who could channel who commanded armies or divisions of the Dark One's forces during the War of Power. It is believed by some of the Black Ajah that, with the approach of Tarmon Gai'don, the Dark One will soon choose new Dreadlords to lead him to victory.
