I can't believe this
recipe isn't here. I eat this stuff atleast 3 times a month. It's very, very good. An
indian recipe. Can be very
spicy or not spicy at all.
As far as the chicken pieces to use, I usually use boneless chicken breast. Boneless chicken thighs can be really good, too.
- 4 or 5 pieces of chicken
- 3 cups finely chopped onions
- 2 tablespoons grated ginger
- 4 or 5 garlic cloves (or more...)
- 20 or 30 whole cloves
- 1/2 tablespoon ground cardamom
- 1/2 teaspoon coriander (more is good)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup plain yogourt
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup milk
- oil and butter for cooking in
- Cut the chicken into bite size bits.
- Sautee onions and garlic for about 10 minutes in oil and butter.
- Lower the heat and add all the spices to the pan, slowly.
- Very, very slowly add the yogourt to the pan, stirring the whole time.
- About 5 minutes later, when the yogourt has dried up a bit, add the chicken and water. Wait for the chicken to cook (about 20 minutes).
- Add the milk and turn the heat to very, very low.
- Let the flavours mix together for awhile. Serve in 20 or 30 minutes. Longer will be more flavourful. Try to remove some of the cloves before serving it up.
