Greek for a "wild beast", I am told.

The name "Therion" seems to have occult references as well. Along with the extremely cool metal band, Aleister Crowley used it in his title. Often referring to himself in third person he would write about "The Master Therion".

However, I doubt the band borrowed the name from him. Its beginnings are older than Crowley, methinks.
