A WPHL hockey team based in Austin, Texas. The team played their first game on October 16, 1996. They affectionately call their arena the "Cave".

Team mascot "Fang" appeared at his first (preseason) game October 8, 1996. The Ice Bats are affiliated with the Houston Aeros of the IHL.
