Direct Client Connection, a transfer protocol used by IRC clients. Not only for sending files, this can also be used for (if your IRC client supports it) whiteboarding, real-time speech, or whatever else those kooky programmers think up.

Digital Compact Cassette

An audio medium designed to supplant the standard audio cassette. Players were capable of using analog audio cassettes, because, unlike DAT, they don't use a videotape style mechanism.

DCC also stands for 'Digital Command & Control', a system for controlling trains on a model railroad.

DCC works by putting a block signal on the tracks. The engine cars are equipped with decoders, which pick up the signal through the wheels of the car. The decoder sends an electric current through the electro motor which causes the train to move. It can also control the lighting of the train and activate the coupling and uncoupling mechanism.
