A purported geode championed by creationists in the debate over evolution, which allegedly disproved evolutionary arguments, by suggesting a technologically advanced artifact from the time of Noah's Flood. The "geode", discovered in 1961, was interesting, consisting of a hard white ceramic cross section and a metallic core that responded to magnetism.

It was later shown that the mysterious Coso Artifact was actually a 1921 era Champion© Brand Ceramic Spark Plug.
