When I was a
Cub a woggle was a thing with a button used to keep your
scarf fastened. I don't remember what the scarf was called. There was 3 kinds of woggles. A regular leather woggle, a silver "
seconder" woggle, an a gold "
sixer" woggle. They were the three ranks in the
pack.
We used to make woggles out of
birch bark. You peel a strip of papery bark off the tree (which is really not very nice to the tree), and hold it on a stick over a fire... the bark would then curl around the stick and you'd have a woggle. This was a popular camping activity...
we loved to play with fire.
