Ahasverus (or
Ahashverosh),
The wandering jew, the shoemaker of
Jerusalem.
Accourding to one myth, Jesus leaned against a door to rest on his way to Golgatha, but the owner - Ahasverus - refused this. Consequently, Ahasverus was condemned to forever walk the earth.
Apparently, he is rejuvenated every thirty years.
