German association of
male beer fans who get together to drink beer and rank it. Sometimes they just drink beer. Established and headed by
Martin Schmidlin, they're based in Breckenheim, which is a village somewhere outside of Wiesbaden. They're an incredibly silly enterprise, considering their religious cult about anything beer. Additionally, they're also a
chauvinistic bunch, claiming that women only drink
eggnog and stuff like that.
If you know
German, their website www.bierprobenverein.de is a must-see. If you can take it as satire (which it's not intended to be), you'll laugh your ass off until your belly hurts. Make sure to check out their pictures under "Die Mitglieder!"
