non-mainstream propaganda (idea)

Once people have accepted the notion that Everything you read is propaganda you still need a term to describe what used to be called propaganda, and non-mainstream propaganda is a leading candidate.

Non-mainstream propaganda:

• Explicitly takes sides in debates, especially on social issues
• Argues against the perceived wisdom, or at least against the majority of wisdom published in commercial news and information sources
• Does not attempt a complete and balanced view, understanding that its readers are also exposed to pervasive commercial news and information sources

The Anarchist Librarians Web believes that non-mainstream propaganda is at least as valuable as commercial news and information sources in libraries, schools and billboards.
