The Baggy Green is the much loved
Australian term for the national
cricket team.
The term is derived from the traditional cap that all national players receive upon being selected for their first match, representing Australia.
It's the boyhood* dream of many young Aussies to one day wear The Baggy Green.
I don't mean to be sexist or gender-biased here, I've just never heard of the longing for The Baggy Green to be a young Aussie girl's dream, although one might hope for that to be the case in the future..
