Telemate was a serial communications program for DOS with many wonderful features. Ten thousand lines of scrollback, a slick built in editor, key remapping, a scrollback buffer for keystrokes entered, scripting, and so many other wonderful things all built into a text-windowed environment. It was the method of choice for dealing with the internet (via telnet dialup server) until I broke with modems and moved to dedicated connections. I miss my telemate.
