The idea here is that something creates its opposite out of itself. Primarily thought of in regard to Hegel, who thought that everything self-alienates its opposite. He, for instance, sees God self-alienating to form the Devil.
Hegel also asserted with this that A = not-A. He claimed that A created not-A or some such thing. Obviously, with this assumption, all logic and reason prove impossible.
