now is the end of the run
of a once-immortal coil
we hope it's been more fun
than our lives of tedious toil
and mortal terror without rest
which is the lot of the rest of us blessed
with minds to see our fellow guests

couldn't we have harmonized?
you cancer on our earth
you couldn't have opened your eyes
looked at her who gave you birth
who endowed you with senses you fear to use
lest you see her cradling fingers pointing to accuse
are your small gains worth all the riches you lose?

we suppose that you've learnt nothing
from all of your past errors
for your fun you go hunting
you take pleasure from terror
in terrible wars of child against child
your bloodiest murderers are those who are hailed
as your great heroes; your species has failed

you won't see anything else here
shitting where it eats
and only an animal as you are
would curse an impoverished teat
for being unable to provide
what it couldn't as much as it tried
you rob your mother of her very pride

we find you guilty of all
charges and punishment is due
i wish it were our call
but the laws leave it up to you
and thus man did stand accused
his fate left to him to choose
his alone to decide what to gain and lose

i won't accept that verdict
i'm not that easily gotten rid of
i know i'm not perfect
but did you ever consider
that He who made the lamb made the tiger
as well as the rapacious spider
even the wasp that lays eggs inside her

if they're all part of the plan
what makes us so awful?
to make an exception of man
seems unjust if not unlawful
if nothing else it's inconsistent
nature from man isn't so far distant
we all play our part as part of the system

everything that eats must kill
or else it must eat shit
of that we've had more than our fill
from arseholes we've long moved to tits
in competition for bodily resources
we all must yield to higher forces
all things travel in their courses

the sunshine that powers mens' minds
must pass through the bodies of many dead
we don't mean to be unkind
it's just a job we've inherited
from all on the continuous chain of survivors
whose victims they've left strewn behind us
for our glorious dynasty's fertilizer

if only you could see it our way
as far as your brutish minds would allow
whatever happens we'll be gone one day
and let that day come but for now
i'd rather die than be killed therefore
i'll continue living by the primaeval law
the glory of man necessitates gore
