The
family which includes the
sedges (
Carex) and their
close relatives such as the genera
Cyperus,
Eleocharis, and
Scirpus. Remember, "rushes are round, and sedges have edges."
Sedges are never found far from water...unless someone plants them in some arid region and hauls out buckets of water for them everyday that it isn't wet.
