A short-lived, albeit delicious, entry in the Snapple soda product line of the early- to mid-1990s, aside such products as Snapple Crystal Cola and Creme d'Vanilla. Tru Root Beer was root beer, plain and simple, with one catch: it was clear! The flavor was still fairly good, although fairly light; the artificial flavorings and extra high fructose corn syrup were not enough to prevent the root beer from having an unmistakably fruity taste.

Tru Root Beer was packaged in the same bottle as most other 16-ounce Snapple products, although it had a twist-off cap closer to one you might find on a plastic 20-ounce Coca-Cola bottle.

Tru Root Beer failed in part because people had grown tired of clear soft drinks, as further evidenced by the death of Crystal Pepsi.
