It was the oddest thing. . . .I was reading slashdot commentary when I ACTUALLY came across something intelligent. This was so unusual that I clicked the poster's home page url, which led me to their E2 ID page. Still not quite understanding where I was, I began clicking on various links and reading.
"Gee," I thought to myself, "This person has an awful lot of very interesting opinions on many many interesting topics. And just look how he's hyperlinked everything! Wow!"
"This person's opinions don't always seem very consistent."
"This person's writing style doesn't seem very consistent."
"Hmmmm"
OK, so maybe I was a bit slow on the uptake.
This place reminds me of Gödel, Escher, Bach, among other things. It reminds me of what I thought the World Wide Web might be like when I first had it explained to me. (If you used Lynx on a dial up shell account, raise your hand.)
