Αχαιμενιδης
One of the companions of Odysseus. The latter made such a hasty departure from the land of the Cyclops in his effort to escape the rocks which the giants, incited by Polyphemus, were hurling at his ships that he forgot to take Achaemenides on board. However, Achaemenides managed to save himself by going into hiding and he was subsequently rescued by Aeneas.
