OpenContent (located at http://www.opencontent.org/) is a place where the idea of freely sharing information and ideas hits the road. There is a license (largely based on the GNU GPL) which facilitates this sharing by protecting authors from the sorts of nasty things folks in this day and age need to be protected from. Started by meta4 in 1998, a movement like this would greatly benefit from a resource discovery mechanism like RDF or the IMS metadata standards.
