Rebel GIrl is undoubtedly Bikini Kill's most popular song, and the closest thing the band ever had to a hit. The song first appeared on the band's 1992 Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah/Our Troubled Youth split LP with Huggy Bear. The Bikini Kill/Huggy Bear tour of that year and the LP brought a lot of attention to the bands and the Riot Grrrl movement (for better or worse) and drew the attention of Joan Jett, who produced the 1993 New Radio 7", which included the title track, Rebel Girl, and Demirep.
