A trial version of Windows 2000 that is provided free of charge from Microsoft. It includes a 120-day fully functional free trial of both Windows 2000 Professional and Advanced Server. It also includes an informational CD, as well as an informational packet. It can be had free from the Microsoft website.
However, once the 120-day trial is up, one must either buy the product or format the hard drive or partition; there is no uninstall. One way to get around this is to reserve a small boot partition on which only Windows 2000 trial will be installed. All other software and data will be kept on another partition. When the trial is up, simply format the boot partition and reinstall the trial. This cycle must be repeated at least every 120 days.
