Chlam"y*phore (?), n. [Gr. cloak + to bear.] Zool.
A small South American edentate (Chlamyphorus truncatus, and C. retusus) allied to the armadillo. It is covered with a leathery shell or coat of mail, like a cloak, attached along the spine.
