Tempest 3000 is a game for the Nuon platform. The main distinguishing characteristic is a heavily smoothed rendering style such that, even running at a rez of only 360x240, it is difficult to distinguish individual pixels. The graphics are very abstract and trippy, and make heavy use of particle systems and video feedback effects. The gameplay is based on the original Atari coin-op videogame from 1980, designed by Dave Theurer. The 3000 version adds extra enemies, weapons and gameplay elements, whilst attempting to maintain the classic style of the original.
I hope it doesn't suck, but then again I would because I just finished it.
