Samson's Wife was a Philistine from Timnah. She is oftened cited as an example of the treachery of women who use their wiles to betray the men in their lives. Samson had put a riddle to the Philistines which they could not solve, so they went to Samson's wife to convince her to find the answer out from her husband. She did so, weeping before him and generally making him feel guilty for not telling her, and when he did she then told her countrymen. Samson then gave his wife to one of his companions, and killed 30 men of Ash'kelon in his anger at being tricked. Samson did not have much better luck with his next woman Delilah.
