4-Chlorobenzotrifluoride (ClC6H4CF3)
(also known as Para-Chlorobenzotrifluoride), a fluorinated toluene, with tight
controls on the moisture level, is being used successfully in a number of applications
to replace xylene, toluene, and mineral spirits. Because it is exempt from
regulation as a Volatile Organic Compound (VOC), and is not an air toxic (HAP),
ozone depleter (ODP), nor a suspected carcinogen, many industrial applications
benefit from its use.
