I've been in the computer industry for more than 20 years now, though I hate to admit it. I've done everything from programming microcontrollers to monitor nuclear sites in Russia to large scale anti-spam systems. I've worked in Silicon Valley for the last 14 years, and have, like many others in the valley, a dubious past -- every company I've worked for in that time has gone out of business.
Every person in my department at work seems to have a "dangerous" hobby. Mine's skydiving. I've been diving for nearly four years now and have racked up almost 600 skydives. I've also broken my left ankle in three places. I'm just recovering from the last surgery to rebuild it. Soon I'll resume training for the women's canopy formation record attempt in Lake Wales Florida.
I'm a dyke. I sometimes ride a Harley-Davidson. I recently gave up on my Toyota Prius and traded it in for a BMW roadster. It fits my personality much better. I'm also polyamorous and have two partners.
I'm still trying to figure out how to wring the most out of life. I'd really hate to leave with regrets.
