Elisabeth packs her bags and leaves her husband Rolf. She takes their two kids and moves into a
leftist commune called Tillsammans (i.e. Together) inhabited by her poor brother Göran and Lena who have a
free love relationship; Stefan and Eva who have just broken up resulting the latter turning into a
lesbian; Klas, a
homosexual who seduces Stefan; Erik, a fanatic
communist and couple of other characters.
The film meets the expectations set by Fucking Amal. Lukas Moodysson has written and directed both of them. Couple of scenes can be thought to be a bit of corny but altogether, it doesn't really matter. Enjoy the extended family of Tillsammans reshaping... Actually, the movie is pretty much everything you can expect from the characters like these. Not quite a movie of the year (2000) but a runner-up prize can be awarded.
