A group of
four sentences - written by
Thomas Paine - that would
qualify as some of the best
poetry ever in my book. The
simplicity of the statement and the difference in it as it is stated each way is
blindingly beautiful. Nothing I write here can
do justice to what Paine created - so here goes nothing.
Times like these try men's souls.
How trying it is to live in these times!
These are trying times for men's souls.
Soulwise, these are trying times.
