Wikidata is a spin-off project of Wikipedia and Wikimedia. It is a knowledge base, based on collecting media, facts, and information from Wikipedia, Freebase, Notable Names Database and other many sites as well as user contributions, about a variety of topics that can be shared by various networks and sites.
It is not known if E2, will be used to help create databases though!
