The largest
Christian convention in the
United States. It is held every three to four years at the
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Originally held at the
University of Toronto, it was moved to
Illinois in 1948. Sponsored by
InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, the conference features hundreds of seminars and exhibits dealing primarily with
evangelizing and
missions. It is held over a five day period during
winter break.
Some of the students have a problem with the
university renting out their dorm rooms to the convention so they may house the 15,000 or so attendees... Very understandable. No one wants total strangers sleeping in their bed and fiddling with their things.
