Proboard was one of the first bbs software for IBM PCs. It ran under plain DOS and could handle only one modem at a time (one node). Supported third party extensions in PEX format, which was the native one. Also, other extenstions were supported as so-called doors, ie. programs that were ran when user selected such option. They were typically text-mode games.
