n. - from "way", meaning a road, and the noun form of "park", not the verb "to park".
A parkway is a road with landscaping. Not necessarily the scenic route, but any route on which a traveller encounters greenery by the road. In cities, parkways are often formed by a pair of one-way avenues separated by a planted or landscaped median. Alternatively any route, city or country, which is adjacent to a park or garden, or passes through a wooded area, can be named a parkway.
