a sonnet.

A greeting to my Comrades 'cross the land:
We People, revolt! We have lost our way!
Let broken souls rejoin and take a stand,
These times of agony shall see gainsay!
Rise up, ye fallen People, see the score:
The world's full of base hostility;
Give those Princes what they bargain for,
And lead us out into the world free!
So gather, Comrades, in the forum square,
And on this day of the People's revolt
We'll march to strip the Babylon down bare
And we'll release our spirits from tumult!
     This world can be free again in peace,
     So tell your friends. Non sibi, sed suis.

Note: (Non sibi, sed suis.  Latin.  "Not for one's self, but for one's people.")
