A fun percussion instrument sold by Latin Percussion.

A Jam Block is a woodblock made of hard, lathed plastic. The sound may not be as resonant as an actual woodblock, but it is louder and sharper in attack and decay.

If you are a drum instructor and you keep good time, a small (blue colored) Jam Block can be used to broadcast the tempo of a tune over the din of your practicing drumline.

The larger, pink Jam Block is actually better suited towards wind band work, having a deeper timbre with a wider spread of color.
