A project created after
ICQ was bought out by
AOL, meant to replace ICQ in case it starts featuring ads. The fears were well-founded; New versions of
ICQ2000 feature ads in messages. The project currently seems to be without a home page, at least according to
Google, so it can be assumed that it has either ceased to exist or has been renamed.
Other alternate clients exist, such as KICQ and Miranda ICQ.
