Community High is one of the original open source high schools. Formed in 1972 with only about 50 students, it has had an open campus policy from the start. Students decide many of the things the school does. Not many standard classes are offered. However, due to the location of the school (center of Ann Arbor), all University of Michigan classes are available. Students are also allowed to teach their own classes. The school colors are clear and black. The school song ends with "don't take Commie's High away".
In the days of the infancy of the web, Community had one of the first web pages. It also had a network years before most other schools. Tuppernet used tupperware to hold makeshift routers and hubs.
